The “teenager” of our family of reds,
a lively and expressive Grenache-Syrah blend.

DESCRIPTION
In real life, Astralabe was the son of famous medieval lovers Héloïse and Abélard, who gave their names to our twin flagship reds. This cuvée, younger in age and in spirit than its complex collectible “parents,” is our vibrant yet easy-drinking Grenache-Syrah blend.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Perfect for everyday cuisine or with fresh Mediterranean fare. Well paired ideally with red or white meat, grilled fish and olive oil-based cuisine. Serve at room temperature or slightly cooler.
-
TASTING NOTES:
Deep, intense garnet with hints of mahogany. Rich and complex, with notes of black fruit, spice, and mocha. Velvety tannins, fruity and supple. Well rounded and full bodied. The finish is aromatic and long.

Producer: Chêne Bleu

Chêne Bleu wines come from our family’s idyllic vineyard, in the heart of the Southern Rhône on the border of Gigondas, in the up-and-coming Ventoux wine region. This ancient site is special and exciting: it is nestled in a protected mountain saddle way up at over 1700ft (550m), in the heart of a UNESCO Biosphere forest, with extraordinary pollution-free biodiversity. We continually protect and nurture our incredible habitat, which we are convinced contributes to the unique style, engaging complexity, remarkable aging potential and sustainable quality of our award-winning wines.

It is our ardent quest to make superlative age-worthy wines, but avoid harmful additives in the winery and leave this ancient land in better condition than it was entrusted to us. We are constantly challenged by the extreme conditions of the terrain, which push us beyond normal boundaries and connect us with other like-minded wine enthusiasts who appreciate our uncompromising, no-short-cuts approach and the wines that want to be better tasting, better for health and better for the planet.

We love to hear from our clients and to learn from them. Our motto, NON MIHI, NON TIBI, SED NOBIS means ‘Not Mine, Not Yours, But Ours’, as we believe in the compounding value of friendship and mindful collaboration.
