Saint-Veran Les Cornillaux 2020
We could qualify this terroir as typical of Burgundy. Installed on deep hard limestone, the vines have everything to give us good balance in the wines. Located in the heart of the Saint-Véran appellation, this climate is shared between the villages of Chasselas and Leynes. The slope is gentle and the exposure southwest. This wine benefits from aging in casks, barrels and vats lasting 12 to 18 months depending on the vintage. Cornillaux is a fine wine with significant aging potential.
Producer: Domaine Chardigny
A family estate between Beaujolais and Burgundy.
It is between Burgundy and Beaujolais that the Chardigny estate cultivates vines and transforms magnificent grapes into quality wines. The exploitation of an area of 20 hectares extends over different clay-limestone slopes.
In 2015, on the strength of various commercial experiences, Pierre-Maxime took over the estate. Quickly, Victor, holder of an oenology diploma, joined him. They are supported by their brother Jean-Baptiste, also working in viticulture and their father who made his career in the bottling of wine at the property.
The estate has 8 hectares of Saint-Véran among the best slopes of the appellation, 6 hectares of Saint-Amour, 3 hectares of Beaujolais-Villages and 3 hectares of Burgundy. The vines are cultivated organically, that is to say without synthetic pesticides or herbicides. The good health of the soil and the vines are the key to having quality grapes allowing the production of unique wines.
All their vines are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming.
