Jamet's ‘Valine' Syrah comes from a site just above Ampuis in Côte-Rôtie. The vines are not in the classified appellation, but the site is not so different. It’s s a plump, easy-drinking effort, filled with juicy, lip-smacking cherries and touched with hints of dried spices. Medium to full-bodied, it's supple and charming, a fun wine to quaff down in its youth.
